*Jurassic World Rebirth* Reveals First Footage Ahead of Upcoming Trailer Release This Week
The full trailer for *Jurassic World Rebirth* arrives this Wednesday, but ahead of its official debut, a brief preview has been released, offering the first look at the highly anticipated dinosaur sequel. Set for a July 2, 2025, release, the seventh installment in the franchise introduces newcomers Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, taking place five years after the events of *Jurassic World Dominion* (2022).
Shared by *Discussing Film* on X, the teaser (seen below) provides a quick glimpse of Johansson’s character, Zora Bennett, alongside Bailey’s Dr. Henry Loomis as they emerge from the dense jungle grass, catching sight of a massive prehistoric tail. Johansson, playing a covert operations expert, is fully outfitted in survival gear and armed, while Bailey’s paleontologist sports a backpack, flannel shirt, and utility vest, ready for the adventure ahead.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (*Godzilla*, *Rogue One: A Star Wars Story*), *Jurassic World Rebirth* marks a fresh start for the franchise, shifting away from Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters in favor of a new direction. This latest installment is expected to kick off a brand-new trilogy, blending elements of past events with new revelations while delivering plenty of dinosaur action to keep longtime fans engaged.
According to the official synopsis, *Rebirth* takes place five years after *Jurassic World Dominion*, in a world where dinosaurs are now confined to equatorial zones. The story follows Zora Bennett, a covert operations specialist, as she leads a team on a high-stakes mission to retrieve genetic material from massive dinosaurs for a groundbreaking life-saving drug. However, when their mission goes awry, they find themselves stranded—only to uncover a long-buried secret with devastating consequences.

While *Jurassic World Rebirth* isn’t a full reboot, it serves as a reset for the franchise following the conclusion of the last trilogy. Rather than a direct continuation, the film introduces a brand-new cast while keeping the story grounded in the same world, pushing the narrative forward in a fresh direction.
For writer David Koepp, this was an opportunity to start anew. In a recent conversation with *Slash Film*, he shared that working on *Rebirth* allowed him and producer Steven Spielberg to have a great time crafting something fresh and exciting.
The full trailer for *Jurassic World Rebirth* premieres this Wednesday, February 5.
