One of Lost's Original Stars Wants to Return for a Reboot

It’s been over two decades since Lost first premiered on ABC, marking one of the last true "word of mouth" and "watercooler" shows on network television. While the series offered a semblance of closure in its final episode, its impact has never really faded. Now, with *Lost* experiencing a resurgence on Netflix, fans are speculating whether a return to the mysterious island could actually become a reality. Originally airing from 2004 to 2010 as part of ABC’s "must-see TV" lineup alongside *Desperate Housewives*, the legendary series has found a new audience through streaming. Naturally, rumors of a reboot or continuation have started swirling. *Collider*’s Aidan Kelley recently caught up with Harold Perrineau at the Saturn Awards to ask the burning question—would he return if *Lost* made a comeback?
Harold Perrineau portrayed Michael Dawson, one of the original survivors of Oceanic Airlines Flight 815, in *Lost*. A devoted father, Michael’s primary goal was to reunite with his son, Walt, leading him to make some of the show’s most difficult—and morally complex—choices. His character arc was one of the series’ most layered, exploring themes of sacrifice, desperation, and redemption. And, of course, his iconic yell of *“WAAAAAALT!”* remains forever etched in fans’ memories.

While nothing has been officially announced, the idea of a *Lost* revival isn’t as far-fetched as it might seem. Over the years, original showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have shared mixed feelings about returning to the series, but in an era dominated by reboots, spin-offs, and legacy sequels, “never say never” seems to be the norm. Perrineau’s openness to a return only adds more fuel to the speculation. He also acknowledged that while the show’s finale was one of its more divisive aspects, *Lost* was truly sensational at its peak. If a revival were to happen, focusing on what made it great in the first place would be a solid place to start.
