New Game Of Thrones Spinoff Update
George R.R. Martin provides an update on a Game of Thrones spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, confirming major castings and filming progress. Based on the Dunk & Egg novellas by Martin with Ira Parker acting as showrunner, the upcoming spinoff is set a century before the events of Game of Thrones and will follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg. The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms cast has already found its two lead stars in Peter Claffey as Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg.
George R.R. Martin has provided an update on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The author listed the many major characters who have been cast, with the names of the actors to be announced shortly. Martin also says they just had their first table read, suggesting that filming is almost underway.
As previously reported, Martin also confirmed that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will have fewer episodes than Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon and that Owen Harris has signed as director. The author also says he wants to write more Dunk & Egg novellas (after he finishes The Winds of Winter, of course).
